Literacy Leap Book Fair: Read and Meet with Local Authors

  Columbia, SC – Saturday May 31st, 2025 – Richland County Public Education Partners (RCPEP) is proud to announce the inaugural Literacy Leap Book Fair set to take place on Saturday, May 31st 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at R2i2 Conference Center. This inspiring morning event is designed to bring together community leaders, educators, parents, and stakeholders who are passionate about supporting and advancing the educational landscape in Richland County.

  "Literacy Leap: Read & Meet with Local Authors" is a free, family-friendly book fair celebrating the joy of reading while spotlighting the incredible talent of local children's authors in Columbia, SC. This event invites families with K-12 children to enjoy an afternoon filled with books, activities, and the opportunity to meet and interact with authors who call our city home.

  Our goal is to foster a love of reading in children, raise awareness for local authors, and promote literacy in our community. By attending, you’re not only supporting local talent, but also helping raise funds for Richland County Public Education Partners—an organization dedicated to supporting education across our region.

  This event also serves as an important effort to combat the summer slide, encouraging kids to continue reading and learning during the summer months to maintain academic progress.
